Description

Antique Sepia family portrait from 1800. Very typical none smiling faces from that era that shows mother, father, ankles, and children. It is sign by the previous owner to Mrs, May "Bennett" (not all letters clear. The author states that the men, 2nd from left, standing is her grandfather and describes the other people as the immediate family members.
The last person standing from the left to right is sister, surprisingly wearing man's clothing. Very interesting as the women of that time couldn't be dresses as men, of COULD THEY?

The picture is placed on the cardboard and marked by Watton studio in Chillicothe, Mo.

The whole display is 14" long 11" tall, with picture of 9 x 7-1/2".
