A complete 3 book vintage paperback box set of J R R Tolkien Lord of the Rings trilogy published by Ballantine Books with a 1972 printing date. This authorized collection features the iconic psychedelic cover art illustrated by Barbara Remington and comes with its original pink cardboard storage box. The set includes The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, and the original slipcase. The original cardboard storage box is intact but does have shelf wear as shown in the pictures. The books have tight bindings overall, though the covers and interior pages have some creasing and folded corners on some pages inside. Books feature publisher original yellow page edge staining.
