Description

Crafted during the 1990s, this elephant is a genuine studio piece by Ken Edwards, the American artist who transformed the Tonalá pottery landscape by introducing high-fire stoneware to the region. Unlike generic souvenir wares, this figure is crafted from durable, high-fire stoneware, giving it a solid, weighted feel. The cream-colored glaze serves as a canvas for the intricate floral patterns and delicate gold-tone detailing that are hallmarks of the El Palomar aesthetic. You can see the "KE" maker’s mark and the artist’s individual animal signature on the underside. Measuring 4-1/4" long and 2-1/4" wide, this elephant is a crisp, clean example of Mexican stoneware artistry. Pre-owned vintage, sold as is. Free shipping in the USA.
