Description

Patented by Gillinder & Sons of Philadelphia in 1877, this authentic Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) covered oval compote showcases fine 19th-century pressed glass art. The piece features a full-figure, acid-frosted sleeping lion handle on the lid dome, framed by a delicate beaded cable trim along the bowl edge. The lower clear glass vessel rests on an oval frosted pedestal foot detailed with relief lion head medallions. Standing 8.5 inches tall with the cover in place and measuring 8 inches long, this 1870s antique serves as an exceptional historical centerpiece dish, candy server, or addition to Victorian EAPG collection displays. Preowned vintage item.
