Description

This authentic Hemingray-53 glass insulator serves as a heavy-duty piece of American industrial history. Originally manufactured between approximately 1938 and the 1950s by the Hemingray Glass Company, this specific style is known as a transposition insulator, traditionally used for swapping the positions of telephone lines to reduce interference. The glass features a distinct yellow tint, often achieved through the use of selenium during the manufacturing process, making it a vibrant and sought-after choice for collectors or home decor. Measuring 3 7/8 inches in height and 4 inches in width, its robust build and unique ridged design make it an excellent choice for a decorative accent or a heavy-duty paperweight. The piece is embossed with the HEMINGRAY-53 name on the front and MADE IN U.S.A. on the rear skirt, confirming its provenance and historical value.
