Add a historical decorative display to your collection with this 2-piece Japanese porcelain tea set. S.P.P. Japan produced this thin hard-paste porcelain set during the post-WWII era between 1940 and 1950. The teapot and lidded sugar bowl feature raised moriage dragonware decoration in gold with red enamel accents against a white background. The teapot stands 7 inches tall, measures over 7 inches from handle to spout, and has a 4-1/2 inch diameter. The two-handled sugar bowl stands 5 inches tall with lid included, measures over 5 inches across the handles, and has a 4 inch diameter. Both bases bear the original red S.P.P. Japan maker's mark. The sugar bowl is fully intact, while a hairline mark runs from top to bottom on one side of the teapot body, which remains watertight and structurally sound for decorative display. Pre-owned vintage item.
