Hailing from Portugal's famous pottery village of São Pedro do Corval, this 1990s earthenware urn reflects the artisanal heritage of the Olaria José Cartaxo workshop. Molded from traditional Alentejo red terracotta clay, the piece rests on an elevated pedestal foot and features a stepped, pagoda-style lid capped with a grid-pattern finial. Soft pastel pink rings frame hand-painted teal and golden floral vines, accented by dark blue dash work along the rims and base. The jar stands roughly 8.5 inches tall. Intact gentle work, crazing present throughout. Perfect for a kitchen, dining room, or sunroom as an eye-catching container for dry goods or trinkets. Pre-owned vintage item.
