Vintage 1950s set of 3 hand-painted Japanese porcelain decorative cabinet plates by Shimizu. Because each piece is individual hand-painted artistry, there are subtle natural variations in colors, brushwork, and scenic details between the plates. Each plate features vibrant hand-painted scenes of Geishas in traditional kimonos highlighted with 3D raised Moriage slip enamel details and an iron-red border. Two plates depict a Pagoda landscape scene with Mount Fuji, while the third plate features a distinct riverfront bridge scene under hanging lanterns. Each plate measures 5.5 inches in diameter and bears the authentic red Shimizu floral backstamp on the base. Pre-owned vintage items showing gentle time wear consistent with age.
